Anyone use finger adjustable bolts for manual adjustment of foil positions in the foil tracks (e.g. on the beach/in the water)?

Yep! I don’t trust them 100% so I check them periodically during the session. I use them especially with new foils and generally go back to normal bolts after I figure out mast location.
I got them from a local fastener supply business, about $60NZ so $35USD. I’m using them on my Axis alloy setup.

They come in 304 and 316 stainless, with 316 apparently more suitable for marine environment but Google that, just in case.

I do and I concur with the prior poster 100%. I was originally using them to dial in a new setup, but I really love the breakdown convenience and ability to tweak position on the water and I have yet to take them off. They have come loose on me - never all four (or even three) - but I have found them slightly loose during a session. I jump and ride them hard so it isn’t that surprising. I just check them during the session, and since I added a liberal dose of tef gel and started cranking them down harder I haven’t had an issue.
I use the hydrofoil wingscrew branded ones. They are expensive ($60) but excellent quality and have good support.

I think you are saying that you take your wrench out and adjust foil position as needed during your sessions? Is that right?

Folks, I have a new set of the Wing nut bolts and I noticed they were lose yesterday. Warm fuzzies. Almost need a tool to tighten them :)
And liv2surf regarding taking a tool out with you.. Yes I was doing that before. I would stash an allen wrench in my impact vest and then adjust on the water..
To me its how I get everything dialed in, I even change the mast position based on the wave height.

Correct. Or just come in and adjust at the beach/launch area.

A hasty correction to the wing screw length!
It’s not M8 X 35 316 WING SCREW
It’s actually more 20-25mm, check on your mast track.

I convert the semi-crappy axis wing and stabilizer tools (T40 and T30 Torx wrenches) into short dual-function tools by cutting them in half and TIG welding a T40 piece to a T30 piece with the bodies overlapped. the resultant tool has both sizes and is half the length, and of course, there are two of them. They fit nicely in a pocket without having the somewhat dangerous length of the original tools. I either wrap the tools with some tape where the weld is or use a shrink tube. I've got a lot of experience in making these because no one I lend one to will give it back.
the tools are stainless steel which requires a back purge and stainless fill rod if you're going to make one. If you don't do that and you use a MIG welder with steel wire the welds will be super skanky but it will probably be fine.

until they started hurting my fingers ...these guys are easy on... easy off...
easy adjustments...not cheep...but worth every penny...

I'm surprised these things aren't noticeable catching a wave. I feel like if I have one piece of eel-grass stuck on the mast I can't even get going, I would think the drag of these would be felt.
