Title: Duotone Unit D/Lab
Post by: winged surfer on July 20, 2021, 08:57:40 AM
Duotone is coming out soon with the new Unit, with the super light Uluula material and hard handles (like 2 mini booms). 5m will be around 1500€
Anyone knows something more or got any chance to try it?
Thanks

The Duotone Aluula kite is out:

Guess the wing will come soon.

I had an iffy the other day with my 4 mtr Unit, a gust hit and the board went sharply to windward and the wing was taken out of my hands. All good but I thought but a hissing sound told me different, the wing had contacted the front HA foil, sliced the canopy, leading edge and a small hole in the bladder.
I doubt I could justify the large extra cost of the Aluula wing, knowing how easy a wing can be damaged. In a kite, yes, a long way from shape pointy bits, don’t think I’d risk the extra cost for a wing.
