Hi all-
I am considering getting a Gong wing, foil and board because their package deals are pretty insane and the stuff seems like it will be perfect for a beginner like me. But my one issue is shipping of a rigid board. Gong isn't shipping them to the US and the companies they recommend are not either. I sent them an email, but no response so far.
My question then for everyone is has anyone had success getting a Gong rigid board shipped into the US and how did you pull that off? The boards look pretty decent too!

Same wondering about this ?

When I looked at private shippers for a gong rigid board it was stupid expensive irrc it was like $700. I don't know anybody who's done it.
Funny thing is Takoon does ship thier foilboards from the same place and it's reasonably priced.
Personally I like the look of that Takoon Comet wing board a lot.

Gong? All facts considering, there really is better gear for the money no?

Buy the foil. Find a used wing and board here. Don’t mess with international board shipping.

Buy the inflatable Hipe package. The Hipe is a cracking board. Once you are up and running sell it and get a nice keeper. I had the 5'1 85L as my intermediate board and it was great.

More than a few years ago, I brought in some randomly spaced boards from OZ. I had a couple of customers there who were very helpful. The $700. Fishman mentioned is probably low if it has to come by boat. Well before COVID, it took 6-7wks and as soon as my last one (a 12-6) hit New Jersey ...the hands came out and four more people got paid incl. the US Gvmt. (given the $USD to $AU a the time...it was still worth it!) Most of the time, air freight included the extras, but two were dinged. (Who you gonna call? NOBODY.)
Follow Cowboy - find used or get Dwight to make you one that will not discount so much when you are ready for his 5-3.
