Title: Volume Question for 85kg paddler
Post by: LoudounSUP on March 04, 2021, 02:28:13 AM
The 2020 NSP Ninja (14'0x22) has an advertised volume of 250.6 Liters. I see that all the online volume calculators tell me that I should be fine but I'm wondering from experienced paddlers...will this volume (~ 250L) to weight (85kg/187lbs.) work out for me? My weight fluctuates 5kg (80-85) depending on the season, so I'm currently at my max weight.

in practicality this board is as good as a 300+ liter board as long as the cockpit is not full of water (a temporary puddle does not count much)
The benefit of the dugout is that you're standing closer to the water and the fact that it takes less material to build the board which translate to weight savings.
