To connect strongly to Archie Kalepa. In the few times I've hung out with Archie and talked with him I always come away thinking "this is who I want to be when I grow up", if I can't be Dave Kalama I want to be Archie. Such a great human being. This video is just so cool. Yeah, yeah, I know, buncha haoles taking advantage of Hawaiian culture. But they could just sell the shoes like every other company that knocked off Hawaiian and surf culture to make a buck.
So yeah, I'm a sucker for this, I buy their stuff.

Then again I'm fairly fond of the reef girls too, and Olokai doesn't have beer openers on the bottom of their shoes. Few things freak my wife out more than watching me open a beer with the bottom of my slippahs. I always say the same thing: "Could be worse, the opener could be on the top".
