A million years ago I ordered a custom SMIK Mongrel without any of the foiling stuff.
COVID, Factory, No more Scotty meetings in airports.
Didn't know if it was gonna happen at all.
Or before my next birthday.
Ping! Message from Scotty!
Finished. Included in a container going to Tillo Windsurfing in Miami. And shipped to me here in Georgia.

Sweet... Biggy. What are the dims. I'm growing fond of that tomo nose. Cuts the swing weight noticeably. Pulled in winger and thin... Turning machine.
-
TallDude, 8' x 30" x 115 liters. Soft channels. Mush sled!
-
She has a nice outline and some pretty hips, Biggs... You have to give it to Scotty - he's all in. Most brands use exraordinary performers as front men or label over other's designs, but he's on his gear. I kinda doubt marginal product passes his inspection.

Had a first gen JP slate. Angled nose with points. Almost broke my nose and lost an eye when the points caught on a hollow grinder. Sold immediately!
Geezer froth fully activated on da SMIK!
-
The good things in life are worth waiting for. I worked this board up with Scotty at SMIK in fricken June!
Covid, factory issues. To quote my Dad, Sometimes what can go wrong will go wrong, Clevie!
My phone pinged and Scotty told me it is being shipped to Tillo and then to me.
Hope there are no Pirates out there!
Pray for smooth sailing and that the ding lords have been appeased..

It's here! Installing C-DRIVE quads. Sea trials tomorrow.
-
That was a long time to wait for a board, but pretty standard for anything custom these days. Hopefully you guys will have some waves. My wife and kids are on the east coast right now. They said the weather is great.

Looks sweeeet Biggie! Yewwwwwwww!
I gotta keep losing weight, so I can try it!!!
-
Just got out of the water. Square nose soft channels with C-Drive quads gets some awesome drive and acceleration out of turns.
73 year BiggieRat threw some spray.
Hoots from young punks on short boards not common.
Trying to bring Aloha to Gatorville.
Nap time. Will report again on bigger swells!
-
Water shot! Welcome to FL Biggie!34
-
Love the shape and looking good!
How would you compare or contrast this 8' Mongrel to your 8'4" Hipster?
-
Stoked for you Biggie! Throwing buckets!!! Sweet. I'd be hooting as well 8)
-
CB1 - Completely different boards. Mongrel 15 less liters, narrower, shorter, Tomo shape.
If I was still in NE in 35 degree water in my
654 hooded suit with bigger swells I never would have ordered da Mongrel.
I used it when I was first here, and be had already decided that the Mongrel would be
much more fun down south.
Bigger swells would bring out the Hip Twin
fo sho. It's proven itself in Hurricane Juice..
