Title: slingshot front wing-help!
Post by: oakfish on June 27, 2020, 07:15:12 AM
I have a slingshot Fsup setup with an 84cm front wing. Always tough to get the front wing attached as the bolts arent quite long enough to get through fuselage and into mast cap. I can usually make it work, though.
The problem is my new 99 cm wing. I CANNOT get the bolts through to attach to the mast cap. Anyone else have this problem? Any tips?
I'm at the beach, wind is pumping, and I can't get the front wing on!

I remember the mast cap being fiddly.  I also remember not having many threads on it anyway, so you can probably do without it for a session and the smaller through bolt will hold it in place.  Or move the mast forward and bolt through the wing.

Long term maybe cut longer bolts to length, or get the aluminum mast cap and drill through and retap it so longer bolts fit and have more thread purchase.

Clay, really appreciate the response. I'm going to try these suggestions and see if they work.
On the plus side, I was able to get out on the 84 cm wing and had fun. Wasn't able to get up on the foil, but good practice with the wind wing.
