Hi guys,
For those who had reported issues with image upload that should now be corrected. Thanks and please let me know if you see other problems.
-
I still can't see posted photos in Firefox. Chrome works. Non-posted photos work fine. The posted photos show as an empty box.
-
testing
-
I can't recreate that. Are you able to see the screenshot above in Firebox?
-
I can see photos or avatars using my preferred browser, 64 bit linux Pale Moon 28.9.3 running in 64 bit Linux Mint 19.3 (Tricia) Xfce.
-
I can see the screenshot just fine. But this is what your post in Super Good Day looks like:

It might be vigilink hosing it. Looking at the page error messages I see this:
Script from “https://api.viglink.com/api/sync.js?key=35bb2ca0881b6001bd5a0fda8c29d244” was blocked because of a disallowed MIME type (“image/gif”). topic,36071.15.html

Hmmm,
That is working on my end. What is your Firefox version?

If no one else is reporting the problem it might be one of my extensions. I play with this later but right now the wind is blowing asnf the event center looks prime. Over and out.
I'm humming the Optimistic Forecast dot com theme song.
Okay, I turned off Facebook Container and the images showed up. Like Rosanne Rosannadana would say "never mind".

Issues with images upload persist. Tried to upload a 44kb image getting this:
"An Error Has Occurred!
Your attachment couldn't be saved. This might happen because it took too long to upload or the file is bigger than the server will allow.
Please consult your server administrator for more information."
Tried few images on 2 different browsers to no avail. Thoughts?
-
OK, looking into it. Thanks!
-
How does one upload an image?
-
I am also having trouble uploading images. I am using Windows and Firefox
I type my message text, then hit the "Attachments and other options" below the text box, select an image on my computer and hit "Post". I get an error message saying attachment could not be uploaded. The image size is about 100kb.
Looks like there is also an option to place image inline via the little graphic above the text box but I don't know what to do after I get the " img/img" in place.

Thanks Phils,
We had come up with a solution that fixed this issue but was breaking other things. I am working on an alternate way to get this corrected.
-
Similar issue here, struggling to load 200-500 kB pictures to a thread. Thought it was because the thread was old but same error message as Phils below. Win10 and latest Firefox.
Thanks for the efforts troubleshooting this, we all appreciate it!
-
To directly answer your question Phils, the "img][/img" feature requires that you paste the address of your image between the bracketed keywords assuming it's stored somewhere else, like "img]https://www.somewebsite.com/someimage.jpg[/img" I lopped of the leading and trailing brackets to keep the software from trying to find the image. That used to be an easy way to post images, but now the images must be on an encrypted page to limit the games hackers can play (note the https: vs. http:) which means some places you might have stored images will no longer work. Sometimes I post images to Facebook and then copy the location and post it here. It's messy but it works--sort of. As mentioned above that created an issue for me when I used Firefoxes "facebook container" extension to block facebook from tracking my browsing. Ain't technology swell.
I really shouldn't comment on how to do things here, I don't know any more about the forum software Admin is using than anyone else. I just keep prodding at things until they work. Or I break them completely.

That was great, Bill. I had missed that part of Phil's question and yes, linking images should still work just fine. It is only our uploader that is giving us problems.
-
Hi Guys,
The image uploader should now be fixed. Please test it and let me know.
-
The image loader is not working for me. The size of the jpg picture is 400x700 pixels. I get an error prompt saying the server is taking too long and/or the file is too large.
-
Not working for me. 35kb file. same error.
-
Thanks guys,
This looks to be a server setting that we are correcting but it is then reverting to the problem state. Not sure why it is reverting yet. Back at it.
-
Randy, I just got a new Switch wing and was not able to get anything up - I even discarded the photos - Nada.

Just drop the "o" before the zone. while ozone is a good thing, it does not belong here :D

Hi Guys,
This was driving me nuts but it should be fixed now. Please test and let me know.
Thanks!
-
The is a test image. Rollover Pass "before" the state of Texas filled it in. And the test image is a success. Click on the image and it will enlarge.

Tried loading 3 JPEG's, 300-500 kB each this morning, no dice.
Firefox 77.0.1 (64-bit) and Win10
Your attachment couldn't be saved. This might happen because it took too long to upload or the file is bigger than the server will allow.
Please consult your server administrator for more information.

My attempt to upload a 700KB TallDude image yesterday failed but the workaround was successful. Copy image location on web if available and insert in between the "Insert Image" code. Like this one I did of my first day back in the surf exactly 7 months after my shoulder replacement!

Frustration!!!
I have a few more eyes on this now. Hopefully someone else will see what is causing this to revert.
Thanks of your patience.
-
OK, this should be working again and you should be able to upload now. We are looking for whatever is changing this setting.
-
This is another test image.
My daily operating system is 64 bit Linux Mint distro in the Xfce desktop environment. I keep all of my pictures in my Pictures Folder which is stored in my Thunar File Manager.
My daily browser I use is 64 bit linux Pale Moon which is currently version (28.10.0). The picture for my test image is a PSH Gun. Once the picture is shown, left click on it to make it larger and easier to see.
-
Let's give it a try.. This was from last week.
-
Working for me now too, thanks Admin.

Trouble again?

Trouble again?
Afraid so,
Retarting PHP-FPM is getting temporarily fixing the issue but we are missing what is blowing it up each time. More searching...
-
OK, Were back. One more error removed that will hopefully resolve this. Let's see if we got it.
-
I tried to upload a picture (900 pixels) and it did not work this time. So it looks like there is still a problem somewhere.
-
Yep... No bueno :( 600K problema
-
What version of PHP are you using? My ponostyle site is running 7.0.29 which worked well for a long time, but now is giving me fits with images. 7.3 is the current version.
-
Test Image!
-
Test 3 - playing with my new camera :)
-
My test image.
Click on the image shown and it will enlarge.
-
3 attempts to upload a 48k resulted in - nothing - not even "you failed" :D
Attempted to "modify" this "above" successful post, by adding/uploading the 48k image - failed! Noth even the text that went with it. Load image- no go. Just text - sure - that works. Modify - only if you modify/add text.
-
Yep, I haven’t succeeded uploading anything for the last day or so....
-
Yup, it is down again. Our hosting team is working on it. Thanks for the reports.
-
We made a change yesterday that still is holding for me after 12 hours. Is there hope?
Let me know if the issue returns.
Thanks!
-
Another test image. Looks like it is working (for now).
-
Well, we have made it 36 hours. Looks like our PHP handler was the issue. I am hoping that this does not return but if it does please let me know.
Thanks for your patience!
-
Timeout every attempt. To upload a pic from my gallery on my Android phone. My bank robber pic will remain a mystery.
-
My bad. Solved.
