Title: Empty waves of the other kind
Post by: burchas on April 13, 2020, 06:42:21 AM
When the wind is up and the surf is meh I prefer the path of least resistance. A glide is a glide. Empty waves galore 8)

Nice video. Glad someone can get out to where the beaches aren't closed and launch a downwind board.

Thanks for sharing the video.

Friend drop you off?
Pretty nice set-up for sure!

Thanks winger. Around here people still congregate on the beach and the line-up on a nice day is almost as full as a summer day. More social not so much distancing though ::) Thankfully, cold windy days tend to dilute the congestion.

Creek, yes it was a friendly lyft drop-off :D We've been blessed with really good winds past few days. Could have used that custom Sunova today :)

Nice!  I've always wanted to do a downwinder and haven't had the opportunity yet.  Looks fun.

Thanks dk! Isn't it the time of the year when the wind picks up for you? Maybe we'll get some break from foiling vids and get another good run from you to keep up the stoke?

Thanks for posting the video.  Looked like a great day.  How is the new Naish Maliko?

Thanks for posting the video.  Looked like a great day.  How is the new Naish Maliko?

The 2020 Naish Maliko is really good board for all sorts of conditions. It really depends on how and where you intend to use it.

If the 2020 was readily available in Canada at a good price, I would be tempted to update my 2018 Maliko for just that little bit extra fun on downbreezer. This is already such a great board, that a little bit better sounds fantastic That or the Torpedo if I could afford it.

Thanks for the report on the Naish.  I am SIC Bayonet rider and love that board.  Always curious to hear about other downwind boards.

You're in good hands with your Bayonet. Will cover any DW conditions the Maliko will and more. The Maliko is a little more fun though in certain conditions.
