no wing dips allowed!!

thinking this would be a great way to get wing-familiar in a big parking lot

Eastbound,

Hard surface parking lots might be a little rough on the wing struts/bladders.
I have a bunch of customer practicing with Wings on sandy beaches.
Yes you go slower (which could be a good thing) So it is easier on your body as well as your WINGS.

I'm thinking (If you are not near a big beach) a soccer field or the like would be a safe option.

Just trying to keep us guys safe

Even common debris on a beach can have you adding a cosmetic patch.  These guys have good skills, I would not suggest bare knees/no helmets make for good role models.  I see a buncha Ouches!

I don’t think it’s quite as death defying or hard on gear as some might make it out to be, and this coming from a klutzy ole guy with bad knees who never really skate boarded. At least no worse on the wing than falling right on top of it trying a pathetic looking 360 in the water.  I posted this vid  in another thread; it was my very first try at wing skating in a parking lot (right next to where we like to kite foil). Just some pretty slow boring circles. Easy to keep things slow since the wing will quickly depower. You can even practice hopping off the board while riding slow to gain some confidence.   It really was fun and by the end of the session I wanted to go faster and carve harder.  I did order some knee/elbow/wrist pads as well as some padded shorts to save the hips/butt and will try them out, hopefully this week

I also might pick up a mountain board for grass and beach riding (strictly strapless). Our beaches tend to be really soft so I’d have to search for some “hard” sections
