there are literally a dozen all arounders on CL in NJ right now for 5-600.  all will sell for 350-400 if they even sell until spring.

Feel a little bad for the guy.  You could get into motocross cheaper than that!

I do a lot of rec paddling in the summer; after work exercise and social. Lots of people pay those prices, go a lot and are not unhappy even though they might have gotten a better deal used or from some other vendor or brand. They aren't all stupid; they just wanted to get something they feel is good quality and looks good to enjoy their new hobby.
