Title: New England wingfoiling...
Post by: cnski on November 24, 2019, 02:18:41 PM
Had a fun session this morning at Third Beach in Newport, RI. Even with the pelting rain. Was on a 5m Swing and the Gravity 2200 wing. Sure enjoy the late season storm winds where I would be reluctant to put up a kite. Where are you guys wingfoiling in New England?

Mid coast Maine and downeaset.  I get to RI pretty often, or used to anyway.

I realize this thread has been dead for a bit, bit thought I would see if anyone ever checks this area of the forum.  After a lifetime of loving wind/water sports (windsurfing, kiting, surfing, sup surfing, and more recently foiling) I JUST discovered how amazing wing foiling is. I'm going to get on the water as much as I possibly can, and because with a wing you can launch anywhere, ride any wind direction, and always paddle yourself home, I plan to get out a lot.

I'm based in Hingham, and usually head to Hull as it is very close, and has lots of launch options for different wind directions and conditions. Would love to find others to go out with - more fun and safer to have company.

Feel free to message me through the site, or email me firstlast@hotmail

Anyone in CT wing foiling?  I am down in Fairfield County and would like to connect with anyone interested in going out for a wing foiling session this summer of fall.  Feel free to send me a direct message.

I've been learning to wing foil on Great Bay in NH.  So far, I only know of two other guys winging in the bay. There are about half a dozen spots to launch from depending on wind direction. I expect we'll be seeing a lot more wingers on the bay once it catches on, just like it did in the early '80s with windsurfing.

Great Bay is right near the NH coast so I'm looking forward to foiling some ocean swells once I learn the basics. Wing foiling hasn't really caught on here yet. I've seen a few prone and SUP foilers but have yet to see a wing at the beach.

Nahant today

Wingfoiling is gradually getting popular. The local surf shop began carry equipment I think last year. It looks tempting honestly.

Swell was pumping today in Rhode Island. I surfed after work. Sunday looks like a full blown nuker. Might have to do a downwinger.
