I have a broken batten on my foil wing. Can I use fiberglass to glue it together? What 's the best solution here? Do I even need them? Replacements aren't available yet from duotone which kinda sucks >:( Thanks!

I have not seen a Duotone Wing baton in person. But I'm wondering if you bought a cheap used windsurfing sail and removed a batten from it if that would work. There is usually lots of cheap used windsurfing sails available.

Sorry to hear about this. Just for prevention purposes do you know how it broke? Was it in a wave or something else?

(http://)I broke both outside battens on my 5mtr Duotone wing a couple of months back, have sent a few messages to them and have been told a couple of times that they would be here soon....
About a Month or so back they told me they where in stock but just had to be entered into the system, still not there though.
Totally not happy Duotone, lift your game.
I was thinking of trying to fit another type of batten from a windsurfer sail or something but most of them are a bit bigger/wider and I kept getting feedback that they would be available any day.
Anyway meanwhile whilst waiting I have been using it without the battens and I really don't think it seems to make a lot of difference, however I am not really sure as I was very much a beginner when I still had battens in it.
My 3.5 metre F-One Swing arrived today and I have to say that in the short go I had in marginal winds it feels so much better, mainly due to the fact it is a lot lighter and so much more stable.
As my main focus is downwind foiling I think it will be a winner for me.

They look like a fairly standard batten, a fiberglass rod with a tapered end. At the risk of giving you bad advice that gets your wing damaged I'll tell you what I'd do. Measure the diameter where the break is and buy a fiberglass kite tube (not kitesurfing, kite) that telescopes onto it. Cut a section about ten inches long and epoxy the batten in it with the break at about the middle.
If I didn't have the original batten I'd buy carbon tubes that telescope and will fit in the batten pocket. Measure the length you need and telescope them together to make the right length. Carbon might be too stiff, you might want to go with fiberglass. Cover the ends with shrink tubing so it won't wear the end of the pocket.
You can also buy battens from Sailworks. They have all kinds of them online. https://www.sailworks.com/the-gear/parts-lines/battens.html They run about 15 bucks per meter.

Take the batten into one of these type shops
https://www.kitestop.com/product/solid-round-carbon-098in-48in/
These type shops have piles of carbon rods in all sizes. They can fix you up.
I broke one too. The middle one.
It’s not tapered Bill. Standard cheap crap fiberglass rod about 3mm

Get some 24K carbon fiber tow. Sand and bevel down the broken areas and fit some epoxy infused toe on both sides. Put only as much as needed with regards to flexural characteristics. ie- match the current flex as closely as possible.

Thanks all for suggestions! I have ordered few cf tubes from Amazon and will glue in broken ends inside. Batten broke about 5 “ from the end, not even sure if it even makes any difference if I run a shorter one. Just gotta be careful when loading this wing on the boat next time - that’s how it broke.

Here is my cheap fix.

So sorry you're having challenges with Duotone Battens, but I like your cheap fix:) I have used a few old windsurf battens and simply sanded the ends down. We now have all but the 5-meter battens in stock.

So will there ever be 5mtr battens available?
It is the 5mtr ones I have been waiting for months for.

Can you tell me what size carbon tubes you ordered from Amazon? I was thinking 6mm but wanted to ask and see if you could share? Thank you

I ordered this https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07R6QTQNN?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_image
I would go with 6mm though since 5 were a little too tight.
