What would be fun is if you could get in front of a wave and ride it like a mountain bike or motorcycle down the face.

Somebody please buy one and try to ride in on waves. Please respond with videos of your experience. :)

Thanks in advance for spending the 7K.

RT, Did you see that little trim tab out front?!  That thing would wash up in 46pcs in my local shorebreak.  Unlike other forms of pedal transport, you cannot simply stop and put your foot out.

Besides, I don't think there is a USCG approved helmet on the market yet...

That's not really a trim tab, that's a surface sensor, pretty common in powered foil contraptions. I'm a little surprised at the low specifications, though this is the first cut and it takes time to develop drivetrains. 560 watts and one hour duration?? Pump that up to 2000 watts and a few hours and they'd have something. That deep water start doesn't look easy, Mo' power would probably fix that.

I've tried the electric foilboards. Ho hum. A wingding requires wind, but it's a heck of a lot more fun. I guess I can see an eFoil as a fun toy to have on a boat, but until someone builds one that's low drag enough to downwind or wavefoil it's not going to be exciting.
