Title: Dead start Sup foiling
Post by: ninja tuna on August 01, 2019, 08:08:24 AM
Just found this video and found it informative.  I see this also as helpful practice for getting going in waves.

Would like to see some 200pounders doing this! Can Dave Kalama do this? He'd be my bet

its hard work, trust me! you never knew you could pull on a paddle so hard. i would try and learn without straps to start with, unless your feet are exactly right you wont get the board out of the water.  i have never used straps on my sups but you can see from these 2 videos the difference the correct board makes.

first vid is on a 7'9 converted surf sup with the tracks waay too far back

second one is on my custom 5'10 with tuttle mount in the right place. it takes 11 paddle strokes to get airbourne- same as the big winds vid but he is using straps obviously.

same foil in both my vids, 1100mm wing span handmade monster
