Title: Slingshot Airstrike 7'8" Reviews & Experiences?
Post by: Seattle-Wind on June 22, 2019, 04:36:28 PM
I'm looking into getting my first SUP foil board for downwinders and wing foiling (when my wind wing finally arrives). I'll likely be using the Slingshot Hover Glide FSUP foil w/ the big Infinity 84 wing. Being inland, I don't make it to the coast often for surfing, so this board would be used primarily for downwinders and wind foiling.

Does anyone own one or has tried the Slingshot Airstrike 7'8" board? What are your thoughts and experiences with it? The price is right, but I'm worried it's going to be a bit too much board for me (heavy, wide, too much volume) and that it wouldn't be very fun to ride due to its large size.

I have one and it's horrible for foil sup but, for what you want to use it for should be fine. The new season of gear is right around the corner tho and there's a bunch of stuff being released that's designed specifically for down wind and wing use. If you can find a blue planet easy foiler or the fanatic sup foil board, something of that type of shape, I think you'll be way happier in the long run.
The SS is a pretty flat bottom so it catches wind easily and doesn't paddle strait at all. All that nose is wasted space also and just adds swing weight.

How about the SS sup foil ?  Good or bad for surf or DW .  Found a good price on one in craigslist locally ?  The 84cm sup wings ?

Performance is good, but they are one of the heaviest setups on the market. Great for windsurfing, where weight is less of an issue and just being bomber is more important.

Get a Neil Pryde glide foil. Light, durable, cheap to replace or add extra wings to. Lots of options coming from them for next season that'll fit this season set up.
