Title: Sunova Skate XL, 8-8

Unfortunately, I move like a robot and have to position myself too far forward to get my feet placed properly; I nose this board over.  This was perfect for my short period, waist/chest shorebreak conditions, but not with my limitations. I need the extra length of Blue Planet's 10-6.

The 8'8 Skate XL was the first wide tail board I ever liked.

I demoed my friend Mark's 8'8 XL and had a blast!
The next day, I ordered a Skate.... it is still one of my favorite summer boards!

Funny.... before I read this post tonight, I had already decided that tomorrow, I am using my 9'2 Skate, to maximize my fun in the small summer surf we are getting right now.

Jim,

I noticed some extra Black on the rails and tail.  Why?

I re-decorated the board - out of necessity.   I imported it directly from OZ and about 4" from the tail on the stb. side they dropped a safe on it.   Luckily, it was dry, a fairly easy epoxy fix, but left a big scar I hid with black chevrons.  It's near perfect, but I did not want to add a lot of bondo to get that last 10%.
 
While there, I pulled that big logo from the deck and clear-coated the deck and shot the rails black because I could never match the splatter-silver they used. All proper, 2k auto paints.
