Title: May 1st a few mellow waves
Post by: FRP on May 03, 2019, 07:12:03 PM
Cox Bay, Tofino beautiful spring morning. A few small pealing waves. The board is a 8’7” Sunova Creek, 115 litres. The music is by Grayson Gilmour our nephew from New Zealand who recently became a proud father shortly after moving into their new home in Wellington. Good to be out there! It was crowded at a good take off point so I went down a bit and caught a bunch of waves then almost everyone followed me. I swung back to the good takeoff and voila......the last wave was unoccupied and my best wave of the day.

Cheers

Bob

Beautiful day Bob.
I have always wondered in Long Beach would be a good spot to really paddle away from the parking lots and get some privacy :-)

Nice video Bob, such a beautiful area and easy long rides!
The Creek looks good against that backdrop  :)

I'm in total agreement. Very nice video. Beautiful place to sup surf. Enjoyed the background music also from your nephew.

Thanks for sharing the video.

OK Bob, you've convinced me. Road trip with Fritz to Tofino. Looks like good foiling.

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback.

Luc you are correct that at long beach you can surf alone if you are willing to paddle down the beach a bit.

Creek what can I say......your namesake board is so much fun to surf. Your advice when I order it to go a bit bigger was good. I would have really struggled if I sized down.

Pono yes! A road trip. I have never witnessed someone flying a foil here. There are definately foilable waves and at Cox when it is big the waves will break more than a kilometre out. I know this from experience after a long swim in when my leash broke. Keep in touch. If you need a place to park Fritz you got it.

Cheers

Bob

I just noticed, you and LBsup have the same off center stance and identical surfing style.   8)
