Title: New Board Locking System
Post by: TallDude on April 01, 2019, 12:13:13 PM
A guy was handing these out at the beach the other day. He had a sample with him. It is heavy duty aluminum and locks into the fin box. Looks promising.

Similar idea to the Northcore Lockjaw Board Lock, which I use.

Let me play "Devil's Advocate".

The weakness in this device is the aluminum cable. For discussions sake, if I had a portable battery operated high speed Dremel tool, I wonder how long it would take me to cut completely through the aluminum cable? I'm guessing 60 seconds.

that's a good idea with fin box lock and combine this with lockrack.

The weakness in this product is that he wants $49.95 for a couple pieces of plastic...

Ridiculous, I thought for that price it'd came with the dang cable, and even the lock (https://www.homedepot.com/p/Master-Lock-8-ft-Python-Vinyl-Coated-Adjustable-Locking-Cable-8428KADPFCCSEN/203285197?keyword=8+ft.+Python+Vinyl+Coated+Adjustable+Locking+Cable&semanticToken=2105000001+%3E++st%3A%7B8+ft.+python+vinyl+coated+adjustable+locking+cable%7D%3Ast+cnn%3A%7B2%3A1%7D+cnr%3A%7B8%3A0%7D+cnb%3A%7B0%3A0%7D+f%3A%7Bb%7D+oos%3A%7B0%3A1%7D+pt%3A%7Bcable%7D%3Apt+rt%3A%7Bpython+vinyl+coated+adjustable+locking%7D%3Art+tgr%3A%7BNo+stage+info%7D+qu%3A%7B8+ft.+python+vinyl+coated+adjustable+locking+cable%7D%3Aqu) for Pete's sake. :o :(

I got a couple on discount with a flash sale on the website. They are aluminum not plastic. They will keep your board from being swiped by your average theif.
