Time for a dedicated Sunova thread as she’s taking shape. Seven are being made for USA, I believe there’re three or four available. Here’s pics as of yesterday, more to come as they progress! Cheers

Nice looking board. And at 12' in length, nice to see you decided to go with 5 fin boxes.
-
Smiling!
Can't wait for this !!!!
RbGar and Creek duel it out at an undisclosed secret point break.... video at 11
-
Touch of resin tint!
-
Pretty cool looking board! what is expected weight? I'm curious because my Bark Expedition reminds me your board and I use it when I go to a break I have to paddle a half a mile off my launch spot. But out of water it so heavy lol ( it's 14' long).
-
25.2 lb without fins and deck pad, this board is more inline with the Bark Excursion, more stability and geared towards surfing :D
-
wait...what kind of handle is that??
i think you are northeast rbgar (was going to go with rbg, for short, but she might not please you).
if so, and if you need a buddy to paddle to any nice distant points, holla me!!!
sounds fun
-
Wish I had the distant points. Something like this? What a spot!
Love this board, though I’d order mine thinned out a bit and 31”.
-
that's a favorite pointbreak of mine, but no distant paddle requiring big board--i go in right by the flag pole--the peak's like 150 yds from there
and you might not make too many friends on a 12 footer there--gets very crowded and chippy on a nice day, certainly on the first peak out front of the lighthouse
seemed to me purpose of this board is for pt breaks too far for proners to get to--that point, including its 3 or 4 peaks, can easily have a 200 proners on it on a good day
-
Hahaha that’s a ledge handle!!!!
Yes don’t get over to that side much anymore, used to go a lot back in the day with Edgar.... but if if I ever do again all will bow to the PtBreak ;D
-
well if you need a partner to paddle to something distant id be happy to join you--i have an old 10'11" walden magic that would fit the bill, tho it's heavy
i often see a distant sandbar or something and wonder how it'd be if paddled to--but too chicken to go on own
-
Thx! Just ordered a day bag in all white for heat reflection from Vitamin Blue !
-
Looking sweet!!!!!!
Now for the long boat ride to little Rhody!
-
gorgeous board--love the tint, and it works well with the pad color
I am prostrate
-
rbg... I keep looking at those specs; I could use those 2" in the center. (maybe a longer period wave too) Good for you - looks a great choice.

PtBreak due to arrive May 10th, perfect timing as I’ll just be getting home from a 4 month project. So stoked to ride it, pics and full report coming soon!

Is the 5/10 when they arrive or going to be released by custom?

awesome. What is your plan for the bag?
Sent specs to Vitamin Blue and they made me a white day bag, it arrived at my house in RI a couple weeks ago, I haven’t seen it yet but I’m sure it’s nice!
-
Nice, please share pics when you have your hands on it.
-
Well I’m bummed to say I’m stuck working so Rick promised to premiere and document his PtBreak this Sat somewhere in southern NE, swell should around 4’. Update coming shortly!

Johnny....
I would never preempt your unveiling!
Respect for your design my friend.... I am very grateful you headed us down this path!
My vids and first impressions will remain "in the can", until after you post your new weapon!
All I will say is:
Pictures do NOT do your board justice. It's is stunning! :)
-
You the man Creek, and thx for the Report yesterday. Sounds like the PtBreak is a winner, frothing to get home!
-
holy holy---saw some CIA aerial footage of creek surfing this board in chest/head glass---so cool to see so much board, along with spray, on a big bottom turn, as executed by creek---counterintuitive to the "go shorter til youre frustrated and exhausted" approach--this board, at least in the hands of creek, looks anything but unwieldy
and there's the expedition exploration thrill--easy paddle to those distant, empty peaks and bars that we are all curious about--with this board? curious? paddle over and see wuttup--check your leash!
cool effing concept
hope this aint a spoiler--trying to not spoil--but the CIA footage is impressive
-
I am getting so much footage on this board that I can't even keep up with it.
unbroken waves, windblown waves, reform beach break, pure glass...
4 hours of vid yesterday alone.... 2 Soloshot - 2 Kook Hat Cam
looks amazing no matter how you look at it ;D
I am frothing to share the RbGar stoke..... hurry home Johnny!
more today.... see ya, going out for an early session!
-
Well delayed again at work so I’ve given Creek my blessings to unveil the PtBreak with a detailed thread of its own. I promise to post pics of my beautiful board ASAP
-
Excellent. I'm looking forward to seeing Ricks videos of the PtBreak. 8)
-
I’ve seen a couple and the board is for real perfect
-
I can only imagine how all additional features make your board really special.
-
The Sunova Point Break video is now showing on the Rick Weeks YouTube channel if anyone wants to watch it.
-
Geeze Badger.... give a guy a chance to post will you?
ha ha.... I am so amazed by this board!
RbGar has been waylaid with work (horrors) and told me to post up about the Point Break.
I will start another thread, as a review of the shape.
RbGar's custom is ONE of a KIND.... with all the bells and whistles he paid for.
It is stunning and pictures do not do his tint justice.
He will still have the pleasure of posting his vision when he gets home!
My board and the others are in the stock Sunova XXX Construction... to keep the price at the stock level.
Here's a teaser of my stock XXX Point Break.... this ain't your average 12' board ;D
-
Ok, I want one.

Still waiting for decent swell here in S NE but I’ve had two seasons in very small waves. Can say in small stuff I didn’t like the quad setup, changed to a med size thruster setup like Creek is running and the board felt much better, but this said the waves were only waist high. Maybe round pin boards like thruster better then quads, I know my kiteboards are kinda like that, my squash tail boards love quads and my round pin board feels better running thruster. Kiting you get immediate feedback as your blasting along all of the time. I’m going to try a small 2 + 1, I have 6” center w/ 4” side bites. Anyways the board is sweet and I’m happy with it 100%.

We've seen your shoes, don't you think it's time we see the matching board as well ;)

Shit, thought I posted some pics of it, sorry boys here she is!
-
She sure is a looker and she can surf too. Nicely done!
-
RBgar- whats the deal with the interesting placement of the FCS/Go Pro mount half way between the nose and Pad? Can't say I have seen that on any production board-
love cool things like that on customs

I had a fcs plug mounted back about a 15” for a Cam, didn’t want it on the nose I case i needed to grab it to take it thru a wave, just thought it might get in the way all the way fwd. now that it’s there I’ll also use it for a place to tie booties too for those nasty rocky access spots, I have on spot near my house that’s a real toe buster.
After a few seasons now totally loving the board, so glad I didn’t go any thinner then 32”, great glide and stability with a sweet rail curve that really makes her turn like a dream that would have been hindered if I went thinner. It really surfs so we’ll and is so light under foot for a 12’ board, with the stability I just drop a foot back with twin quick paddles it spins to get waves and comes out going fwd, kinda like the old no paddle take off on a log. It likes the thruster fins, next I’m going to try a smallish 2+1 setup. Could not be happier
-
So pretty had to snap a pic!
-
You like the 2 plus 1 better ?
-
Small 2+1 seems to work pretty good, been messing around with med sides and a small trailer that works great in the small stuff!
Unfortunately we haven’t had any decent surf to give the fin setups a good running.
-
Sorry for the lack of posts but been working way to much and it’s been a flat summer with only a weak swell here and there. Anyways I’m off to Novi for a surf/kitesurf trip the beginning of Sept. I’ll be taking the Pt Break and 6’ Boss kitesurf, hopefully get something worth reporting! Cheers
-
Patiently waiting Eastern Shore Novi!
-
Hopefully the swells will arrive before the wind does. :)
