If anyone's looking for a post-Christmas gift to themselves... JL is running 50% off on a lot of his line, including the SuperTech (I'm probably grabbing a 8'3"), etc.

Aw man!! Got totally pumped for a half price B&B but they’re not on sale!! Would have been nice for a backup!

The 8'8 Super Tech for $1000 shipped is very tempting.

I couldn’t resist. Got one couple of days ago. It is so beautiful too :P
No brainer deal. Mine came in at 15.4 lbs classic version.

Yeah, have fun with it, great board. Really nice session on it today, just wish it was 5" shorter, ha. JL boards are really light and extremely durable (I dropped a WW off my surf racks at the top of my garage, not even a blemish). Just watch the rails with paddle dings.

oh man....such an itchy finger to press on the 8'8.

Are you going with wax or deckpad? I know I shouldn't buy yet another board, but damn, I have a trip in 11 days and downsizing would be nice.

I bought hexatraction after all these glowing reviews on here and web. But I am not impressed at all - impossible to even prone paddle it in rash guard - I keep sliding off the board. Also it might work for regular suping or downwinding but performance sup surfing I don't see how. Maybe I will change my opinion but the first time using it was underwhelming to say the least. Wax is great - never lost a contact with my longboard. So I might end up ripping those hexes off and just waxing it. We'll see.
P.S also bought a kwad model for wife - price is just too good.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of waxing it, that's my only complaint on the Super Frank, the deckpad can get a bit slick from time to time.

how would one decide on carbon supertech vs standard?
I surf carbon Stun Gun and love it but ...

I’ve waxed every SUP I’ve owned....the pads too....still the best traction possible.

Not a hijack! Just piling on the Hexatraction thoughts. My personal experience with it relates to water temperature.
When it goes below 50 degrees it is almost useless other than providing a thin layer of protection.
Back to winter wax on the schnozz. My Infinity New Deal felt like a skating rink in 37 degree water.

What size are you looking at? I mean......my 8'3 with fins and wax was 15 lb on the dot. I don't know that carbon is worth the extra money unless you are going really small. Just my opinion.

I don't know what my boards feel like in 37 degree water and I never will.

I’m surfing in 6 degree centigrade water.....wax is king.

Coldy, Tru Dat brother!
-
A little base coat, a little cold water wax , goes on great over the hexa!
When I flail we now know it's SharkBoy not the slippery hexa!

How long did it take to ship when you ordered?
I think I’m going to order too
-
I must admit i pulled the trigger on a SuperTech
A board i have covetted at a killa price
Arrived within a week FedEx really well packed
-
I just pulled the trigger too. Also got the supertech.
Sale said continental us only but it let me check out and I paid the 250 for shipping. Guess we will see if they ship it out to Hawaii. Wonder why it said that? Maybe cause international orders?
-
My label was a West Coast warehouse...sorry can't remember exactly, and tossed the box
Sux to have to pay to ship a board TO Hawaii.
Superumped on the Supertech....rails are SO fine...
-
Yeah, just put the 8'3" SuperTech through it's pace in CR for 10 days. Great board, dropped down from the 8'8" and glad I did, no issues with stability, felt at home on it instantly. Highly recommend the SuperTech for a performance/shortboard style.
Also - with fins, wax, everything, weighed in at 15.0 lbs (standard version, not carbon).
-
Did anyone arrange thier own shipping for this sale?
