Mistral has trademarked the word WindSUP - and has sent out cease and desist letters to all manufacturers about it.
Looks like it will now be known as SUP Windsurfing (but isn't "Windsurfing" also trademarked?) - - so what is it now?
SUP Sailboarding?
Sailing a SUP?
Strange move on Mistral's part.

douch move
Late 90's Cannondale trademarked "freeride" and sent cease and desist letters all over.
Rocky Mountain made a really funny ad where they made fun of it, and put it in every magazine. Cannondale looked like douchebags and the term Freeride is used as it always was.

I have a copy of that ad. But not with me.

hmmmm...in the USA, it looks like it is "ABANDONED"...and the status is "Dead"...see below...
SUP Windsurfing works for me...I actually registered that domain along with a few related others back in the day...
Back in 2005, I started working with Sean Ordonez on building standups...all of those first SUPs had mast foot attachments...we mostly called it "longboard windsurfing"...Jeff Henderson at Hot Sails Maui even had a forum under that name...in fact, it's where I virtually met SUZ admin...now, Jeff calls it "Longboard surfboard sailing and surfing"...
