Title: GoFoil M280
Post by: bing on February 19, 2018, 09:09:34 PM
Just got a GoFoil M280 two weeks ago and learning how to foil on Puget Sound.  I am finally getting it to foil with short rides of 10 to 15 seconds.  I also have the M200 wing.  Wondering if anyone else is using the M280 and what they think of it.  It has been really tough but learning slowly how to do it.  What a blast when it stands up out of the water and flies.  I haven't tried the M200 wing but with the smallish waves here on the sound, I think the M280 is probably the best bet.

Cool.  Keep pushing it.  Don't whine until you have 10 sessions.

Then tell us how good it is.

Thanks Beasho - I have been out three times.  Those five short rides got me hooked.  Also - finding when I go back to my SIC Bullet, my balance on that board is shot for at least 10 minutes until the brain rewires itself.

If you are learning the 200 & the 280 really flex the mast, so if learning drop back the Kai or IWA for now , the mast flex is really unsettling paddling for a wave . Very hard to take off clean with the wobble learning. You get used it to pretty quickly once you can foil but that wobble drags out the learning phase.

Got out today - enough wind and waves.  Swapped out the M280 with the M200.  Was able to get up a number of times.  I did notice the wobble that Piros mentioned.  It did throw me off on my balance.  Other times - smooth glides.  Big crashes though.  Amazingly fast and addicting.

I am foiling off of Three Tree Point - the waves stack up there since the water gets shallow in that area when winds pick up around
20 mph.  Doing both downwinders and circling back to the point to catch the waves.  A little bit of a workout but required to catch the three
footers.

Hi Dc surf

Would you know the measure of the 2 wings?
I know they call the size by the square mtrs.
But what would the wing span, chord & thickness be of the biggest wing?

Thanks for your help
