WTF, I decided to learn to kitesurf to fill in those times when there's not enough wind to windsurf or downwind and too much to surf. And to Foil surf because it looks like big fun. Now all we have is north wind which pretty much ended my kitesurf lessons and foiling while it screwed up the general surfing. At least we had a good SS downwinder yesterday. Today looks like it might be too light to downwind but just enough to screw up foiling and the wrong direction for a kitesurf lesson. What do I have to do to stay in the water? Paddle Flatwater? NOOOOOO!

Long distance swimming?

Just whip out one of your pet projects from the garage and call it a test run.
Gives a flat water session a whole new dimension ;)

Hmmm...
Time to build your battery-powered foil board!?

You poor thing...I feel so sorry for you.... ::)

Yeah, I know, first world problem, but it's still a problem. Take a look at the Kanaha cam today. enough to make you puke. Those poor people paddling aimlessly around, trying to catch anklesnappers.

Agree, with all due respect to all here who paddle flatwater, I can't stand it. Probably because I can paddle flatwater straight from my backyard, I'd rather just walk the dogs!

Might be a good time to break out the mask fins and snorkel for a freediving workout!

Fortunately, it's been good for foiling the last two days, and probably tomorrow. Today's "problem" is that I feel like I've been beaten all over with a broomstick. This foiling thing is tough.

Here you go Bill try this on your next down day , go out a buy some Bungy cord. Tried this on the weekend with my new Kalama board. Just make sure there is a few of you , pulling that bungy out is a real workout and so is the pumping.

Piros, I give you an "A" for innovation but man, that looks like hard work. Was it fun beyond the novelty of doing it? Seems like you'd just take the boat out instead.
Pono, looks like there actually is a market for the Geezer foil but we gotta get a way that you can bounce and pump with the back foil, like a reverse version of those foil bike things. I was kidding when I started this thread and now I'm kinda serious.

Nooooooooo, for flat water foiling?
If you can get towed, there is plenty there to try to achieve.

My friends and I used to bungee surf/skim in rivers. Much easier than stretching the bungy on foot, just let the current drag you down stream until your arms can't take anymore, then get up like getting up on a wakeboard. Shoot up river and repeat.
We had one board with a rope handle mount on it, and obviously you could stretch the bungy farther with that assist. It was something like the below link.
