Title: 2017 USA Infinity Whiplash 14x24 1650.00
Post by: warmuth on December 30, 2017, 01:04:02 PM
Going to move down another inch so letting this one go. It's a USA made custom, I received it in Feb. The board is in excellent shape, no damage on it. Flies in flat water and is more capable in chop than one might think. Its got the LA fin system installed and comes with an extra set of larger side fins for stability tuning. Located in FL.

I took a production 24 out for spin and it was stable with a single fin. Can only imagine how much more those big side fins add. Awesome deal for someone especially since the fin set alone is pricey!

Good to see another drop down in width.  23 should be about right for most AW conditions outside of really big DW runs.  Fast on flat and can handle chop easy.

Found that 24-26" width boards to be too wide for general AW.  Except in rough conditions 27-28" is appropriate.

Nonetheless your board looks nice for someone who wants and needs that 24 width.  Most are scared of 24 -> but 24 is really very stable especially with quads.

The 24 was mostly all water for me. It's not going to handle the same stuff as my Vapor but it handled more than my 25.5 404 V3 was able to. The 23 will probably be almost exclusively flat water. The 24" was nice in the aspect that I never felt outgunned on the flat and was still able to paddle if it wasn't flat. It does have limits though and there were a few races that I didn't use it in that were on the rougher side and more appropriate for the Sidewinder.

You may be surprised.  Would suspect that after a year on the 23 you will be perfectly ok in chop and light DW say to 15 kts.  Took me a couple months to get used to our AS23 -> but have never looked back.  Let us know how it goes.

After testing the Sprint 21.5 it was clear that dropping down to that would be the right move for flats for me.  But because we hardly ever ie. never get flat water in the ocean -> decided the AS23 was and still is the right board.
