Title: Bean Bag Performance Groveller, 6-1 x 27 x 78L
Post by: anonsurfer on December 08, 2017, 09:11:09 AM
This 6-1 x 27 x 78L performance groveller is crazy fast and loose.

In very good condition. It's very light (11 lbs with fins and traction), water tight, and ready to rip! The board features 5 Futures fin boxes, custom paint with carbon/innegra deck, Creatures tail pad, TRACE mount, FCS Handle for easy carrying, RSPro Hexatraction deck traction, and 3M clear rail protection. *** Fins and leash are not included ***.

Build thread can be viewed here....

I'll accept any reasonable price if I know it will go to a fellow zoner that will enjoy it as much as I do.

Pick up in Orange County CA only.

I'll be down your way at the end of January. If it hasn't sold by then, I'd love to come give it a try.

What are you designing up to replace this one?  Something a little longer & narrower?

No problem, let me know.  Even if this one sells I have others you might be interested in trying.

My new 7-0 x 24 Greedy Beaver has totally changed my perception of what is possible in a stand up board so I am working on a 6-6 x 24 version (build details coming soon).  I also have plans for a 6-4 x 24 groveller to replace the Bean Bag when it sells.

Bumping this up.   $300 gets this board.  This is one of my favorite boards but have to make space for something new :-)
You can demo in Dana Point area if you want to try before you buy.

Jesus!  That's a steal.

I missed you last month--we ended up only having two days.  I'm back in late April and hopefully have more time to get up by you.  I'd love to try some of your stuff.  I'm really curious to find out of the those ultra short boards would work for me.  The volumes you are making are perfect for me.

I think you'll find it to be a super fun and totally different type of ride.  It's like being on a disc that you can put anywhere on the wave face.    Unfortunately, now that I am getting used to narrower boards, 27" feels too wide.   Once this one sells I will make a narrower version as it has been one of my favorites.

25-26 is my current sweet spot for width.  I'm going to try my wife's 8'8 x 24, 78 L longboard out in the surf this spring and see if I can handle something that narrow.

I doubt you'll have any issues.   I find that even 22"-23" wide boards are very stable as long as the surface area and volume are there.    My latest quiver addition is a 7' x 22" soft top with about 68L.     The hardest part is popping up to a standing position.  Once standing it is actually pretty stable.  I also had a 9' x 22.75" x 71L Firewire Special T Longboard.  Super easy to stand and paddle but it was too long for my liking.

No, it's long gone.   Seeing this thread pop up brought back some fun memories though, thank you.
