Nice mellow day AND one gets from the video a really good sense of the reality of learning to foil.

Clay, thanks for documenting your progress. Later this month I will get to Maui to begin my SUP foiling journey. Can't wait!

Great videos Clay. It looks like you guys are having so much fun on the boat, that the foil attempts are just one of the amusements. I love that! You should bring some fishing poles next time. I can't help noticing that the speed that you are being towed at in most of your videos is right at the threshold of the getting lift. I imagine that (because I've never foiled) if you increase the speed, you might increase the stability of the foil? Kind of like trying to ride a bicycle super slow. You wobble.

Heh heh! I've got flying down except for the perpetually landing part.

Awesome video!

Thanks for all the feedback! FUN, all of it. One of the things I love most about surfing is there is always something new, even for someone like Laird who has done it all...
Here is the extended version of this boat session:

nice one, a couple more knots boat speed and you will be surfing no worries! we spent hours trying to get it at 7kts, went to 9kts and got it first try

Thanks, I appreciate the tip.
Were you able to wakefoilsurf on your 13 foot board? Or was the smaller board a necessity? What boat were you riding the wake of, the inflatable??

i havent tried on the 13fter yet, it had a leak and has been drying out for a few months now. we're using a 10 metre launch, maybe 7 tons worth
