The Gong guys always look like they are having so much fun.

Dig his paddle length.

Also love that his buddy just laughs as he drops out of the wave. Looks like high tide and that's exactly my idea for this. Big, high tide rollers that no one can catch and deeper water would leave you a perfect, empty playground. Thx for posting this.

I was thinking the same thing, high tide mushburger killer.  Just afraid this guy has some serious balance skills and that my learning curve would be very long.
Here's the rest.

Below is the same video in the link above. I like the overhead drone view.

Thanks for sharing, enjoyed watching.

At first I was thinking I wouldn't want to foil in those waves.  Then at 2:20 when two sups are on the same, and one doesn't have a foil, the advantage of being on foil became obvious.  Eye opening for me.  I wonder how much foil experience that guy has to be out among other surfers in some hollow sections?

First video.
Short paddle, short board, straps, confidence.
Doesn't need to hop on takeoff because he knows the waveface AOA will do it for him.
0.40 is killer. not afraid to hit the re-entry but almost suffers the fatal stall.
1.53 for the difference between hull and foil.

He gets another .5 for the Ned Kelly beard.
And a full Style point for the double knee shimmy at 2.58.
