Title: Picture of the day!
Post by: fatkid87 on August 31, 2016, 09:04:35 PM
Let's see those photography skills y'all got!!

Many different reasons why people get into SUP.... From chasing the waves to chillin with the homies...

I know there is nothing better than chillin on the board as the sun sets and just taking in the water, sun, and outdoors!!

Nice photo. Looks like a nice flat water place for a leisurely paddle.

Thanks for sharing.

We were supposed to do a downwinder yesterday, but rain stopped play... This is my favourite alternative.. paddling along coastlines or around one of the main islands here. This was a first, around Tung Lung Island to the east of Hong Kong

@Off-Shore

That's a nice paddle you and your friend took. Looks like you and your friend had the entire coastline to yourselves.

In my neck of the woods, I wish I lived closer to the Gulf of Mexico, but I'm 90 miles to the closest beach on the Gulf. I would love to paddle the shoreline on the Bolivar Peninsula. All I can do is paddle the wooded shorelines of freshwater Lake Conroe.

Thanks for posting your two photos.

A lot of people out paddling this morning. The ocean is pretty much flat with just a small bump that never breaks. Took this with my new Google Pixel 2 phone.

It’s all about the kids! Love seeing them out on the water no matter what they are doing.

It's definitely a board I would enjoy surfing in waves like this.

Tested out the new longboard SUP on Saturday. Small short period surf, but the wind was out of the north so it was fun. Caught a few nice waves. Good day to figure out the pivot turn with a board 2 feet longer than my usual. Did get a few nose rides but not hanging 5 yet.
Shot of another SUP guy who was out.  Rhode island.

It looks fun to me!

that thing is a deadly embolism accident waiting to happen, spirit----very dangerous--im an experienced diver and i wouldnt get near that thing--any device that conveys you quickly thru water, while breathing compressed air, including up and down, shallow to deep, is very dangerous---if it's for thrill and fun, even moreso

Yes, that makes sense.  I hadn’t thought of the rapid up and down that’s possible with that thing.

Paddling with Sturgeon on the Columbia. They say timing is everything and this blew my mind because I have never seen this many sturgeon feeding in one spot, in such clear and shallow water. Dozens of sturgeon were following spawning Rainbow Trout and it was quite the show.

Offshores and ground swell.  Hard to tell but it is at least head high

No waves. Dirty runoff water from the heavy rains. Parking lot closed. No one out. Usually that doesn't stop even the hard core knuckleheads.

Usually when you see waves like that the area is freckled with surfers. Is that the Oregon Coast or Cape Cod? Kind of looks like Oregon though the swell isn't coming from three directions.

Looks like a certain bay somewhere on Boston's north shore between Marblehead and the city.  ;)

besides, would I post it if I didn't want to share?

The only way spots stay secret is if there's no handy place to park.
