I've been busy as hell lately and haven't posted as much useless and inane crap as I usually do. Is that cheering I hear? Anyway, I went to post from my iPad as always and I couldn't post pics. Always could in the past, no problems. What's changed? I'm sure it's been discussed, but I'm too lazy to search for it. A little help?

Biggreen-
.jpg versus .jpeg file extensions (?) That is the word I heard in the 'Shack.

Exceeded 1Gb total per message?

That's OK. I'm posting enough useless and inane crap for the both of us.

Haha! Cheat, you ARE the man!
Whereas I suspect many of you spend hours a day on your computers for work and the Hot Chicks thread, I spend minutes. I have only the iPad and I'm not very computer literate. I just downloaded some new app to see if I can change the file format so I can post pics. Mostly I guess I just don't understand WHY things changed.
And Cheat, keep it up! You're my hero!

It's those dammed Silicon Valley intellectual get-a-life's that just have to mess with plain folk. If they'd just learn how to surf, nothing would ever change........

I spent an hour writing a tutorial about posting pictures.... "Mac for creeks"
I have tried for 2 hours to post it........ baaaaahaaaaa..... don't ever ask me how to post anything :(

Our old ipad mini can add photos no problem -> whereas our new ipad air2 cannot. Even very small kb file size jpg images do not upload. Not being a computer geek - cannot get this work when the boxed message error about jpg file type appears onscreen.
It may be the problem has to do with ios 9 and compatibility to this website - since our OSX computers work fine as well. It would be nice to get this resolved -> as others seem to have problems uploading as well.
Also often get the boxed server error message when trying to sign in.

I have the same problem posting photos since I get the same error as lots of you do. It seems I cannot post photos from my Pictures folder in my operating system. I've found a way to post pictures here, but it does entail lots of work.
If I have a photo I want to post here, I resize the photo to the size I want. Then I upload the resized photo to my Photobucket account. I then copy the IMG code Photobucket provides for the photo. Then I come to the Zone site, write a message and then insert the IMG code after the message has been typed. Then I preview the message to make sure the photo shows. If it shows, then I submit the message.

this works on my Mac Mini
On my desktop, I keep a folder named "111" (because it pops up 1st, when I export from Iphoto)
In Iphoto, I create an album, to group pictures to post
I select ALL the photos in that album, go up to "file" and scroll down to "Export" (a dialogue window opens)
I choose
JPEG quality - High
Size - Large
File name - Sequential
I export to folder "111" on my desktop and then click OK
All the photos will appear in 111, and will be sized between 500 to 700 kb
On the Zone
At the bottom of the post, I click "Attachments and other options"
then Click
select
then desktop
then folder "111"
Then double click pictures, in the order you want them to appear in the post.
I have a step by step "Mac for creeks" written up if you need really detailed instructions.
of course, I have no idea if any of this is compatible with the newer Ipads :o

Nice photo, Scallop. I love glassy, clean, little surf.

Thanks!
West Florida, you gotta work with what ya got.

Looks suspiciously the same size that some desperate men rode on Logs at the Isle of Rhodes earlier today!
Have a bad feeling that the water was a mite nippier..

One note for those of you on newer Apple devices. They have changed their photo capture format from jpeg to HEIF format. There are some good reasons, like a lot of things, you have to incur some pain or hassle to get the benefits.

Bring it, Scallop. New blood - new venue. We need to know what happens, and how it works over there...

We basically wait in between for each cold front to swing down this time of year. It's been a pretty reliable weekly deal up until about Christmas day. Last week not much happening. It also has gotten warm, in the 80's every day. The gulf temp has risen from 64 to 70 over that period. It was 63 water, 45 air temp for that other picture 2 weeks ago and I had my 3/2 on. It helps to also enjoy flat water paddling here.
Looks like we have a good one coming tomorrow. Proners will be looking for rideable faces in the slop. Sat will calm down and clean up some, wind about half, then Sunday early looks like the smaller glassy left over day.
I'll try and contribute what I can but I'm short on experience. I have gotten tons of good info from lurking around for a while and have benefited tons from it.
"Kooking Giants?"
Looking out for the next set.
