Title: How to get back on a board.

Please post up your comments, suggestions on the easiest and most efficient way to get back on your SUP - in varying conditions.

What I think I do (it's so automatic I'm not sure I'm describing it right without actually doing it):  get to side in middle of board, put paddle on board but not where it's in the way, put both forearms on board, sink down then lunge upward by pushing down with arms while perhaps doing a kick.  Turn as I'm going up and swing right leg (if I'm on left of board) up, so I end up lying on board on my chest with my right leg on board.  Then lift left leg on and pop up to knees, then up.


I've never had any problem getting up first try, and I don't think conditions matter, although I'm never in anything too rough.  Biggest mistake I ever made was when I first started, and I put my paddle crosswise.  When I was getting up onto the board, my hands slipped and I fell chest first so one rib was parallel to the paddle shaft and hit it hard--hurt for weeks.  On a board with any deck recess at all, it would have been worse, because the shaft would have been up above the deck, bridging between the 2 rails.
