I finally got my Giroptic 360 camera after about 2.5 years of waiting. Funny, the little Yocam which I also pledge on kickstarter arrived the same week.
The Giroptic is pretty interesting. I was playing with it in the garage so I did a little garage tour video. Sound is seriously screwed since I held the camera on a monopod slightly above my head. You get to see how bald I really am. Whopee.
It's going to take some experimenting, but this should be great for surf and DW videos. Now I just need to figure out how to edit them. Anyway--here:

The smartphone viewer lets you move the phone around to do the different veiwing angles and even does a VR version what works with any of the Google cardboard viewers. They included a little slide-on lens system for iPhone that works great. 3d and 360.

I’m not a fan of the 360 view. Maybe for still pictures I would like it, but that’s the coolest garage ever!
-
Yeah...not sure about the 360 Degree for that purpose.
But loved the tour!

Your shop is uber cool.
Aren't you about due for a haircut? I thought it was a Bernie Sanders video for a while

Those containers remind me, I need to declutter my little spot.
Thankfully I've not gotten deep into things with motors but as soon as I get a garage of any size my wife is gonna put together that all that sanding I do would be good for a muscle car.
Can't wait to see the foil come together. I still think us on this board need to find someone with a CNC that can make us decent plywood starter wings.

Are you sure it's not the "bald spot cam"?
Watcha building in there, the Taj Mahal?
-
Everything.

You have a good voice, Pono, maybe broadcasting in your next life.
-
Serious Man-Cage! Must be fantastic having that much space to work! Best part (to me) is you obviously have A LOT to keep you going with all those projects for years to come....no slowing down for you Pono!
Awesome!

Suction cup mount? ;D
-
:)
I still got to watch all the way through but....a fort like that.....who would care about their house.
-
The camera cut off at 4 minutes, so here's the rest. A little chunk disappeared. I'm going to have to get some experience with this thing. It came with an amazing number of mounts--suction cup, plate, bike, glue on, screw on. I got it as a kickstarter campaign, the price is pretty high now. I think the pledge was about $300

Yeah. Diane cuts my hair, so it usually goes until she can't stand it. I'm right on the edge of that now I think. It's too short to comb, to sparse to care. I'd shave my head or wear an even closer cut, but all the injuries I've done to my dome over the years makes that more than a bit scary. Nothing dramatic, just walking into stuff. tall guy problem, you wouldn't understand.
-
I like how you describe your giant pile of crap as, "A giant pile of crap." :)
-
We already know that PB has lots of awesome shit which is cool to look at.
What's really cool is this camera. It's f'n amazing. The stitching is near seemless. The fact that he got it for 3 bills is ridiculous. If I had $500 burning a hole in my pocket, I'd pick one up for sure.
Thanks for sharing PB and can't wait to see it being used for it's on water purposes!

Yup, you need to get that thing on a board and show us how to edit the feed.

I used to think the same way but all the scars and bumps on my head gives it character....yeah....that's it "character".....and cove doesn't need to worry about it mostly because he still has hair..... ;)

Good thing, pretty much everyone can see the top of his head. Pisses me off though. He not only has hair, it even looks good. Even when I had it, mine was a pretty random mess.

Seriously Bill, we're already jealous enough of your daily life. If you were good looking too, we'd have to put out a hit. ;D

I thought I recognized the logos of some frying pans on that pate.

Yeah...that too...at least I got the genes for good looks..... ???
-
Pono has an interesting and dynamic appearance and no, he is not ugly. That may be better than good looking, so I guess the hit men will be on the prowl.
-
I just want to know who is going to play Pono in the movie (I wonder if Dick Butkus is still acting?) 8)
Back on topic. The garage/warehouse is truly a castle among mancaves. I couldn't finish 1/20th of the projects you're dabbling in during my lifetime. The board storage alone is Lannister Level Luxury. As someone that wants less not more, the tour gives me the incentive to create usable space in my currently disorganized garage and focus on efficiency for the few things I need workspace for (painting, native plant gardens, bicycles).
I am looking forward to the movie by the way. ;)

Nice, love your garage and projects. The camera view looks interesting for some applications but did not really work well for your garage tour. I'm really looking forward to see how your foil project works out, it's great that you are taking a different approach from what everyone else is doing.
