Has anybody read Barbarian Days, William Finnegan's new surf memoir? Nice profile of him (he's a journalist) in the July issue of Los Angeles magazine (no link yet that I could find).

Oh, just checked on Amazon and it's not out until July 21. Sounds like it will be a good read.

search new yorker mag finnegan surf, and youll see his piece from may, which i posted a while back.

didnt know the book was out--i will read it immediately.

Eastbound which issue of New Yorker was it?  I subscribe to the e- version but can't seem to find it...

it can be read free, but yes, the jun 1 issue

Thanks for the tip about his New Yorker article. The two from 1992 (Playing Doc's Games) were good, too.
