So.....this looks finished and I can't wait to ride it!
Me 5'8" 190lbs give or take.
Reg "short board" style sup waters edge black tip 8'6" x 29 x 4 111Lt.
Performance Long board style KingsSS 9'2"x 29.5x 4.1x 119lt
This yellow thing 7'4"x4 3/8x 27 3/4x 107lt
Curious about the performance and the stability, should be enough foam, the 8'6" floats me very well and is pretty darn stable considering the performance I'm can get out of it. One way to find out....
-
You may not even need fins! Wow, those channels are so interesting. Plenty of release of that tail. Can't wait to hear what it surfs like.
-
Yup, looks like a "fins optional" style.
-
It'll be quadzilla with optional nubster! Possibly try thruster as well. Yeeeewwww!
-
Dave that's a sweet looking board, very much looking forward to your review.
Just for some context....Are you an East Coast or West Coast surfer? I'm very interested in this style board but have questions on how suitable it would be for the Northeast.
Pretty good things come out of L41 land.....Great Job! Kirk.

That means mine is next :D

Ake G,
I am an east coast surfer, in the Jacksonville beach area. I had been living on the west coast of FL in Tampa. Needless to say I'm pretty happy! I missed the east coast!

More pics!

Another

So sick. So jealous. Stop rubbing it in brah.....
Why not go thruster? Daniel Tomo Thompson rides his as a thruster.
Regardless, that thing looks like it will rip, hard..
-
Thruster will be explored for sure!
-
Just add lasers and proton torpedoes....damn!
-
Do you prefer quad over tri?
I just think that thruster draws tighter arc and turns easier.
-
Usually a thruster type, but it really depends on the board. I think the nubster will be interesting too!
-
Or if you get really bored one day, and waves are tiny, just take the rear out and leave the nubster in.
Can you take one pic sideways? So we all can see the rocker?
-
Wish I could but doesn't ship til Monday :-\

A good board is versatile enough to work in most any type of wave. There are barreling waves on the Atlantic and mushy waves in Hawaii.
-
Actually check the simsup site.. Kirk updated the site you can 360 the board and see the rocker, very cool. S5 model

I have +22 lbs on you....same board....should be interesting for my fat ass.....good thing ive been going to boot camp.....nothing like a new low volume board to get you motivated to mix it up
BTW - only one leash plug attachment?
-
The leash plug! I think its got one...

The leash plug! I think its got one...
How are you going to rig it?
-
Gotwavs, good luck with the flotation!i wanted to pad the volume a bit do I went 5lts less than my performance 8'6" at 29 wide. You apparently like a good challenge, good for you!
As far as the leash string goes, one plug one leash string.....and scene (I live in FL)
-
Looking forward to a ride report on that futuristic looking space ship. I'll bet it rips.

It actually is 1 liter more than my current L41...but I've been going to Body Fit Boot Camp for the past week in preparation and stopped drinking IPA beers :'( ( getting my but kicked so bad by these young'uns)
Hopefully drop 5-10 lbs before I get it.

That would be cool. I'm interested in how those channels improve the performance. I'll bet it projects really well.
-
Giving up IPAs. That's dedication.

How are you going to rig it?
I'm thinking about drilling a hole at 46 degrees from the original and putting a "I" hook in there with a few washers, then connect the two with this space age carbon thread I have left over from my last lunar space odyssey.......I digress....I need an IPA this is so confusing
