Im talking goosebumps, I got to the meeting a bit late, just as it started, and when I looked in the room and saw all the faces, WOW! the BIG Guns were all there. They brought some of the smallest SUP boards that I have ever seen and paddles too. From the North East West and South sides of Oahu, and me with my homemade signs and video camera. Yes I had to record this all because this is HISTORY, the history that I want to remember.
Mahalo Zone for the sign ideas, The Duke and The No Blame the Board made it on tv.
To the SUP crews all over fighting this same battle, best of luck! and Aloha.

Great news! Aloha and Mahalos!

Woohoo!!! Sounds like for the people by the people. Most likely it will take a series of small successes. Stay positive. 😃

So what exactly happened????? What was the outcome?????
-
Who are the "big guns"???

Nice-HPWA had a spy in the meeting also-great news!
The fight is also here in socal.
meetings are underway and strategies being formed into action...
Common sense and self regulations wins the day over government regulation!

Sounds like the dickhead lawyer withdrew his moronic motion and slunk back to his cubicle. In other words he wasted taxpayer money and didn't have the balls to stand up for his stupid ideas. He tossed a win squarely into the side of SUPers and rational surfers by demonstrating that not only will we fight back, but any surfer that doesn't have his head up his butt is going to oppose unwarranted regulation of surfing of any flavor.
The kind of cynical manipulation that attempts to use safety as a stalking horse for discriminating against a form of surfing you don't like will only work if we don't speak up.

Sweet!......SUPower!!!.... 8)

Great news. Congratulations to everyone there.
What was the % breakdown of regulation supporters vs. opponents? What things worked best for you (signs, petition, bodies)? Was there one kind of argument vs. another that worked best or worst (for either side)?

That is great maybe san O in next?

This is important to get the takeaway on how it went down because this won't be the last time you see this. And you can bet the other side will adjust.

It's in the works as we speak. Stay tuned

Just remember, there's strength in numbers, with a uniformed front and message(s) getting more attention than one or two disgruntled SUPers.....as we saw in this thread with the pissed-off proner surfer attorney.
Socalsupper70, SupSurfIsSurf, StandinDan, The Kernal, and several others as a group are addressing the problem(s) also....hope you guys are touching base with them also, so the same word(s) are getting to those with the powers.
Just a thought....

So what are you guys doing? How are you organized and what are your plans? It looks as though there are several of us initiating individual actions. We should join forces. I'll start a new thread.........
