My 10' board doesnt have enough rocker, and on bigger waves lacks control...
So was thinking on side-bites for some turning and control in bigger waves...
Even though I will be building a board for better waves, want to use this one till then..
Anyone have placement for side bite on a 10' board?
Any suggestions for sizing or style..
Thanks for the help.

Basically center your sidebits with the front of your center box.
Probox is great for retrofit. Size depends on what your center fin is. I like the H3 in hrd-core from Hanalei fins. Talk to Robin about sizes.

You'll find the rear shapers dots at 15 3/4 to 16" on a lot of productions boards about that length.

Thanks, 16" it is...

Instead of sidebites, I decided to address the real problem and its the rocker in the back half of the board.
So on impulse, I cut out the back section of the board and mowed some foam a bit to get some curve back into the board..
It was kind of stupid, as I could have sold the board and made a new one, but my curiosity got the best of me..
Mico-balloned last night, glassing later today.
Hope I dont hate the board after this... It was a good board for small waves.

You'll undoubtedly learn more from fiddling with the board with a fault you've characterized than you would from building a new one--and the education is worth more than the sale price. If you see improvement I'd suggest keeping the board as a mule for other experiments.
