I have a high gloss SUP and the little scratches on the bottom and side of the board were bothering me, so I grabbed the Turtle Wax Scratch Remover I had in the garage and rubbed some on and it took away alot of the little scratches.
I ended up waxing my whole board except the pad (on my 11'6" all arounder) and it looked showroom new. It was slick as anything, a little hard to handle, but the water just beaded off of it as I paddled. Also felt like the board was a little faster. Cleanup was also a breeze, the water beaded right off again and it dried super quick in the garage.
I figured it would also add a little layer of that "turtle shell" protection to the board and also a little UV protection for the paint. I've waxed it a couple times now and am pretty happy with the results.
Anyone else try this? Or am I a little crazy?

I've used "Rejex" on the bottom of my first glossy bottomed SUP. Board came out of the water dry. Amazing stuff. It's great for marine vessels.

Most car waxes are mostly abrasive, that is how they do away with the scratches. Not a problem from time to time, but just like car finishes, excessive use removes the finish. I am hearing good things about On It Pro being better then a sanded finish, I guess time will tell

from Boardlady, 600 grit sand surface is faster than polish/wax surface. But with our cruising speed, i dont think we can feel the difference, do whatever you better.

I can't believe someone actually wrote that.
That'd be like saying that the proof that sanding works is that every racer in any sport will tell you that winning comes down to whoever has the most grit.
