Title: Coreban 8' Vibe
Post by: Aves on April 06, 2011, 06:53:58 AM
This board looks sweet. A short board for the bigger guys like myself...

Looks like it is still a few months out but wondering if anyone has seen or had one in the water?

Linus, what's the word, and when you have one of these I wanna ride it.

(at my size, I could race it) ;)

hahaha, I would love to see you wining a race on the Vibe!  I would sponsor you in a heartbeat.  haha.

They will be here this summer.  We are just getting our Nitros and Lithiums in - which I am having a blast on  ;D

But, yeah, we can't wait to get the vibe - especially with that 5 fin set up (I love to ride quads).

I'll keep you guys posted when they are close to getting in.

Linus, I know you haven't had your hands on the Vibe yet, but is it possible to describe the design of the Vibe and it's intended use (range) as opposed to a shape like the Nitro or Lithium?

Thanks!

Hey everyone , just got back from south africa and was riding my brother in-law ( Greg ) VIBE and LITHIUM , both great boards . The VIBE was unreal in surf from 2ft Muizenberg beach to cooking 6ft Elands bay . The boards tail is like the FUSION but a little bit smaller and the nose is a mix between the PERFORMER and the FUSION , what a great ride with the Quad set up . The LITHIUM being 11'' longer was less stable with the pulled in tail but very rippable on any wave but performed even better on hollow fast waves with Future thruster fins installed with center fin a little bit forward loosened it up .. Hope this helps you guys , Back in florida missing the surf .

FIngers crossed that we'll have the VIBE and the new EZ boards at the booth Saturday for the Santa Monica Paddleboard Race.  http://pierpaddle.com/ (http://pierpaddle.com/)

There's a demo with Standup Paddle Surf on Sunday in Santa Barbara - West Beach 9am.  If all goes as planned, I'll have a demo EZ and a Vibe for show.

Scored a used Vibe on Craigslist. Pretty stoked on it. I don't see it working in real hollow, steep waves, but for most of the conditions I'm in here in NJ, should be my go to board. Went from a 9'11" PSH Ripper two yrs ago to a 9'3" Isle Performance and now I'm on this.

Those conditions are smooth. Where i "surf" i have wind chop makes it super rough. I could stand on a freaking toothpick in those conditions, ( jealous)  ;D

Nice seeing some Vibe action.
Just got my Vibe a couple months ago but haven't been on the water much.
Still dialing in, but I'm getting there. Went down from a 10' Icon so it takes a few sessions to get the balance right ;)

Thanx for checking out my vid, 55NSup and Monie. You should have np prob on the Vibe , Monie. Thing is a cork and floats real nice. Super stable board for an 8'0". Hope you get some "Smooth Seas" over there 55er, SUPin in chop is NOT easy.

Had the Vibe out in some decent conditions w/a bit of size and power(for me anyways). It worked real well but late drops were tough. I need to get this board a bit more dialed I guess.

Fresh Vibe action here. Nice south swell hit NJ right before the "Polar Votex" settled in.

Good Stuff!

Anyone know if there  are any changes to this board for 2014?

Cheers!

Thruster or quad fins? Pros and cons?

Also can you move a center big fin up in the box and keep it snug?  When I moved it up it wiggled unless I put it all the way back...

I have my Vibe set up as a tri at present. Wanted to get it wired first b4 switching up to a quad. I scored a nice set of quads for $90 on Craigs. Sea Shepard keel twinies w/bites. The keels go for 100 alone.  Def gonna put em in the Vibe pretty soon now that I have about 10 sessions in on the thing. I like quads better, def feel looser. Vid here is my 9'3" Isle, never even put the thruster set in that one.
