Title: wetsuit with elbow pads?
Post by: jondrums on January 18, 2017, 11:09:43 PM
Turns out, I use my whole forearm/elbow in getting back up on my board and that's been wearing out my wetsuits prematurely.   Now I'm trying to find one that features reinforcement in the elbows.  Anyone know of a brand/model that offers a 4/3 fullsuit with this?

mine wear out too...maybe just from flexion..always a thin part of the suits

Have some early experience with Flex-Seal spray...and Rustoleum makes a reasonable knock-off
You can definitely make patches with it if you use it before the fabric gets too thin

take a few passes to make it the right thickness...make an internal manequin arm to stretch fabric properly

You could also just get a piece of neoprene and glue it to the suit.

Which brand is your suit? I have the same problem with my O'Neill Heat 3/2 and I ended up sending it in to them for a fix. Took about a month turn around. Expected a bill, but never got one, and at the same time they fixed a split in my 4/3 for free too! Both were out of warranty. Talk about killer customer service! Being a Cali boy, born and bred, and NorCal resident, O'Neill has my business forever. (They're also the only company that makes a suit in my size.) I guess you could also try a patch.

Buy some 1mm neoprene online and a tube of aqua seal. I patch up my stuff all the time. This is an easy one to prevent.
