Seems like I get a stubborn case vertigo every spring that comes and goes for a couple of months. Man is it hard to paddle and stay on top of my 7'4 when the world is spinning. Got tired of falling over this morning. Think I will ride my wide, stable AllWave tomorrow at Trails.
Does anyone else seem to get Vertigo in the spring? Must be allergy related or something.
Welcome to my world... ;). I never used to have much in the way of allergies but the last 5 or so years I have. I have balance/vertigo issues all the time but it definitely gets worse in the spring when my sinuses and lungs get filled with pollen.
Yes, I get some vertigo in Spring, too. I am convinced it is allergy related, swelling of eustachian tubes etc.which also affects the inner ear. All very delicate stuff in there.
Starts end of March, peaks end of April, tapers into June exactly the times for peak allergy season.
I also sometime get swelling of the sclera of the eye, making things a little extra blurry, minimal.
My vertigo is not severe, very minimal, but noticeable from time to time. Haven't noticed it changing my board performance markedly, but it would make sense that it would at least a bit.
Flonase, now available over the counter. It takes a week or two to work but I use it daily and haven't had vertigo for years. Allergies lead to ear trouble/pressure you can't feel and Flonase eases that up.
I've been on it for several years. No side effects.
flonase is a steroid nose spray--i use it only for very acute episodes--dont think a good idea for long term daily use
but then, my body's a temple--until i get if front of a nice cold ipa!
Eastbound, I had the same concern but the dose is so low that it's not really an issue, that I can tell.
My doc says that it's so subtle that it doesn't kick in for a week or two. If you're seeing a benefit fast it's might be just the spray in your nose. You might A/B it with saline and you might be able to cut it out altogether.
It has kept me vertigo free so I use it in the spring and summer, but truthfully I'm on and off of it too. Also check deeper into steroids, not all are bad or dangerous. My nuts are still full sized. ;)
Can the math guys on here help us calculate nut volume as well? Is there an app for that?
Don't know about math, but the old fashioned descriptions: wrecking balls, knee bashers, fishing weights, pendulous, less pendulous, man ovaries, frightened walnuts, undescended, and pseudo-labia.
