Big day for the Aussies in tough conditions but it goes to show what a tactical race this is with Kai and Connor taking the North line not covering Travis Grant on the South line or Scott Gamble as the crow flies. This race can really be a throw of the dice hedging your beats on wind , current and who think can win. The race came down to the wire with only a few miles to go. I followed it on sup racer with Kai , Connor and Travis spread out across the ocean all equal first with Scott back in 6th. Bad day for Danny Ching blowing his shoulder with only 45mins to go.
Scott Gambles (HI) run home was amazing to come second , so was Travis Grant (Aus) 10min lead to win. The Aussies had an amazing day with Terrene Black (Aus) taking out the womens along with all the prone riders to claim 5 Gold overall. Great effort by the Hawaiians to take 7 of the top 10 places in mens but just couldn't get the main prize. Hopefully this will be the shot in the arm for the Hawaiians to finally compete in the sup world titles in 2014.

"finally" That's priceless. A masterpiece. Smooth without the assaulting edge of McTavish.
