I usually surf Winthrop/North Point Marina. I live in Grayslake.
Where do you launch at Waukegan? That would be closer. I've stopped by the Waukegan Yacht club, when the winds/waves are up and that place can get good. But, I've never surfed there.

Really depends how the wind is for the day if it is south or south east it can be ok in the break walls even sometimes north works in there. They stay clean in the break wall cuz they dont catch the wind so much. On good north wind days you can hike out through the dunes and the waves can be pretty decent. There are some good sandbar breaks out there in the outside beach just a good long hike out there though. The water and sand is super clean there no rocks or trash dont know why it stays so clean but i like it.

Have a new board I'm itching to try and there "might" be some waves today.
Im about as mid states as it gets. Kansas City, Mo! Waiting on my Bote board to get here the first of next week. Ya know your hooked when you sell your ski boat you've had for 22 years to buy a couple of paddle boards. ;D
