Hi there, this is my first post. Thanks to the Wadadli Waterman, Brian Talma, and Sean Ordonez i am a SUP rider now.

When you are pretty good at a sport it isn't always easy to get your girl into it as well. Windsurfing and kitesurfing never worked out well with whoever i was with at the time, but this sport looked like the ticket. Wadadli Waterman let me use his board after Brian Talma got me excited about trying it. After two sessions i knew i had to order a few boards. This is the letter i just sent Sean Ordonez:

Sean, all equipment arrived without any damage at all. By the time they were picked up in miami it was in the middle of Christmas rush and our guy in Lauderdale thought we should wait until after all the shipping madness was over to send the boards. He has had stuff trashed in antigua customs over christmas before. Anyway, i finally got the equipment on Friday and was able to put on the deck pads ready to try em out on saturday. Me and my girl went from Curtain Bluff to OJ's which is just past Johnson's Point next to the Blue Heron Hotel. We measured it and was surprised to have done 4 miles. We had about 12 knots on our back and the waters were clear. We saw turtles, rays and all sorts of fish and it was really nice being able to do something like this with my girl. I had given her a "lesson" on my bic "techno" one design windsurf board which is a super short 30 inch wide course board. She used a dinghy oar back then too, so for the first session on a proper SUP to be a 4 mile down winder was pretty tough. She didn't fall once and was very comfortable on the Green, and i think we are going to be doing plenty of cruising. Anyway, i thank you much. Its pretty flat at the moment with light winds, swell coming at the end of the week. Willl hit the waves then. I hear its massive over by you. Have fun, eli.

Yesterday at Sunset we did a little cruise from the mega yachts down to Turtle Bay again. Soooo beautiful. Anyway, thanks for some of the tips on this message board. Am hooked.............

Yesss....I

Well speaking of gear cost.  I still need to save a few clams so I can get my wife on the water.  I see a shorter custom ripper in the near future  :P

Some north swell coming for Friday and Saturday..........its gonna be interesting the line up.  ;D

;D,Picked up my Paddle Surf Hawaii   10' Daimond tail  from Blane and Austin the other week. Had it in my living room for about 3 weeks.( was too busy riding my other boards) but any way, I finally used it. Today my sister and I woke up early to go to Alamo and practice a bit.(she started around Christmas) The traffic was so bad on the freeway we decided to turn around and go to Peterland on the southwest side.
What a morning we had, no wind, small consistent one footers rolling in. Most of the guy where at fenceline, so only had the two of us at Peterland.
Blane the 10' works really good, can't wait to try it in a little bigger surf. Easy to paddle, balance good, easy turning.
By the way  my sister caught her first wave today on her new PSH 10' board.
WOW what a day.

Great to get the wife/girlfriends hooked...makes getting more gear so much easier... ;)

I'm looking to get my wife a board for her birthday. She caught her 1st wave on Maui last week and she is hooked. She's paddled my 12'6 starboard before but it's like an aircraft carrier for her. 1st time on it she was out in light chop for 1/2 hour and never even got wet. I'm thinking something around 10-6 x 28 although the starboard 9 x 30 extremist is interesting too. So many nice boards available now.
