I'm looking for a river SUP paddle and was wondering what kind of shape is best suited for whitewater and wich type of construction to choose from. I've read a lot of advices concerning the lenght. But what about the paddle shape and the material type?
The Werner Carve seems to be a good choice... what do you think?
What about the ottertail shape. Would it be good for whitewater?
Thanks!

I think the Carve would be best for paddlers up to 190 lbs then the Advantage for the heavy weights both of these are from Werner.  These paddles are bomber and built using the same construction as the Werner whitewater kayaking paddles. Ask anyone that has been near a kayak paddle and they can attest to the Premium Laminate construction from Werner, buy it once and never have to worry about it again.

Thanks Dan. I have my own Werner Carve now!   :D

By the way, I just saw the video where you demonstrate the stiffness of the Carve and you totally convinced me.
