Paddle surfing festival.

Secured some good Swag,  thanks to George at Onshore surf shop for all of his work.  Many sponsors yet to be announced,  we have prize packs to go around.  Don't forget that this is a team trials qualifier for the US east kayak surfing team, AND  we have a special pot for the winner of the waveski division, who will also be crowned North Carolina state Champion.
After talking with several of the judges and
entrants to the stand up division, The SUP surfing division has a modification to the judging criteria in that use of the paddle while surfing as it pertains to maneuvers (not twirling it) will now be officially part of the judging criteria.  I'm pretty sure that this use of the paddle was taken into account last year, but now it's official.   As the organizer and participant, I do all I can to stay out of the judging to avoid any appearance of impropriety.  Management Rule #6, stay out of the way of people (our very experienced ESA judges) who know what they're doing.  Other more stringent rules such as not kneeling during the heat will not be enforced.    This is still a "Fun" event not for rankings or seeding, so we'd like to keep the strict rules to a minimum
The Surf What you brung division is open to all forms of paddle propelled surfing craft, and will be judged on the difficulty of the maneuvers in relation to the capabilities of the craft, as per ESA, same as last year.  High commitment/difficulty moves are stressed, while taking into account what a particular craft can and cannot do.   Try not to read too much into the criteria, just pick what craft that you think you can rip hardest in, and go do it.
