I love the 1980's! Shorts were short, and windsurfers rad!

They look nice!  What are the sizes?

Interesting that you haven't even ridden your 105 & 117!  Sometimes I miss my 117, but I think I would like something like this much better.

Hi CB1... They are as follows:

NS78 is suppose to be 7'8" but actually measures in at 7'10"
NS96 is suppose to be 9'6" but actually measures in at 9'5"
NS106 is suppose to be 10'6" and actually is! (Hey; 2 out of 3 ain't bad  ;D)

I think what I'm most grateful is all the sideoff days I've been able to sail.  We all know that sideoff just brings waveriding to a new level.  I was always hesitant here on the Florida Coast to go out in side off with all the wind obstructions, 45 degrees sideoff no way in hell.  But now it's game on...knowing I can make it back to shore in the worst case scenario and more importantly doing it easily.  Frothing for the Quatro to arrive....might not be for a few weeks though.  uggggg

This is why I'm adding a mast track to my JL 10-4, when it's too windy to SUP, but not windy enough to windsurf, I'm going to put on a 5.0 or something like that, just enough sail to be able to putt around in the impact zone and drive the kiters nuts.  No straps needed, got the full pad, with just enough sail to drop in on the set waves.
It's just too sweet,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, in theory, so far.
It takes a quiver to do that.

Hey WW, been out of town (to an unnamed secret spot called Oahu ;)) and just getting caught up.
You are right... that vid you posted was WAY RAD!
Thanks for that!!! Really, with all the HEAVINESS of the other posting categories, it was fun to come back to the short shorts / windsurfing post and just get an old-fashioned stoke going on.
BUT THEN... you posted some MODERN footage showing RAD swooping wave face exchanges in the same spot with Laird and unnamed windsurfer... too cool! I guess stoke and wave sharing still exists! On Maui even. Imagine that! Would help if we all SUP'd as good as Laird, but since we don't... well my advice is to use/share what you got, and don't hog waves or do anything else stupid.
A smile always brings me good karma out there. If that's all you got to give, give it!

So it got WAY too serious around here lately, yeah? Looks like they need to integrate this thread into the other stuff before everyone sinks from the weight of their own self-importance.  ::)
I gotta go see how fat that fishy-delishy is... it is gorgeous! Like the deck graphics too.

OK, the fish... is cool, but me thinks too advanced. But the 9'6" (er, 9'5") is almost 31 inches wide... hmmmm....

The 5.0 on the Jimmy will be perfect.  You're not going to plane and I found my 6.2 gets me nothing over my 5.3, just a longer clew to get in the way or hit the wave face on a bottom turn.....
