Pretty cool Dan, makes a good case right there for either a good leash release system or no leash

Dan - That's a pretty dangerous looking drop and you make it look easy.  What board were you riding?  It must have been pretty strong to take the abuse from the falls.

OhioSUP

Dan, your pushing the limits of SUP and it's awsome. In a few years we will be creek boarding.

Thanks guys.  The drop isn't that dangerous unless you fall off above it and swim it head first.  Like I did on my 3rd attenpt.  The board I used was a Starboard Whopper 10'X34" wide.  It didnt do too well with the fins on it but after i broke them off on runs 1 and 2 it got a little better.  Then I just rode the board backwards and the added rocker iin the front/bow allowed the board to go through the bottom of the drop without hitting.  I knew I could make it IF the board didn't hit the bottom, but it took me 4 runs to figure out how to do it right.  Runs 5,6,and 7 went great and the last run was the smoothest.  Unfortunately the board is pretty much toast now :'(  I do like the composite board better than the inflatable as I have noticed on the bigger drops the inflatables flex just enough at the base of the drop to hesitate and send you flying.  I am still figuring all this out so its a lot of swimming and trial and error, and learning.  I love it though and truly think its more fun for me now than kayaking which i have done for most of my life. I have to say a specail thanks to Chris Emerick (cinematographer), Nikki Gregg (camera's 1 and 2), and Jock Bradley (photographer).  Check out the silly comments the guy left on the youtube site below the video, haha, what a tool, he must be a grumpy Cali. shortboarder in disguise or something?

Sweet.. video.
An inflatable board Uli or Stride would make that much easier and the board could take the hit from all the mistakes day after day. Please if you value your composite don't think of taking it on a rocky river.

This video shows an inflatable board that is designed for running whitewater rapids...not surfing a wave:

This board did the whole course from top to bottom standing with out falling...on the first run. I board built for the river will make a river much easier.

That's awesome.
The first few looked sketchy - you made the last one look easy.
