Rowdiest river race on a board, Gore Canyon of the Colorado. 8/22

This year there will be a stand up division at the Gore Canyon race in Colorado. There are several paddlers here that know the section from kayaking and may think "what the ....." but yes, it will be an included division! Not every rapid will get run but the idea is to see who can navigate the canyon the quickest. It will be a combo of racing and portaging to see who can complete the five mile canyon in the shortest time. I would have to say without any doubt this will be the most challenging river race to date, if not ever on a board. I have run this section hundreds of times in my kayak and have won the race paddling a kayak twice. Can't wait for the water to drop so we can get some practice runs in on my board.
