I would also quite sincerely and with much humility offer my services as a judge of the first annual Stand Up World Tour Bikini contest.  Losers in the bikini contest get paddled by me.

Stoked that the Tahiti locals will be in it.     This picture is not Teahupoo but you get the picture...   These guys have insane ability and charge.    I honestly feel if you are not a big wave charger you should not be on that list.     That list should be the elite sup surfers.     So stoked this thing is being put together...

Is it going to be a world tour or a big wave tour ? I think there should be also some locations with perfect "rippeable" waves.

Also I think they should put the race aspect of sup unless it's not representative of the sport.

I think the "sup world champ" should be able to charge big barrel, rip swall wave, and paddle fast on flat water.

I think the WSUP bikini tour is a great idea.

In the interest of gender equality, I suggest that we add a budgie smuggler category.  As this is a 'world' tour, we will need a contestant from Australia.  I nominate David John to bring the Thunder From Down Under.  Sam and Myron, you get the tap to represent the Hawaiian guys (this will clear up the rumors about island men once and for all).  Corran and Kwhilden are hereby named The Green Team (we understand your environmental sensitivities, therefore moss and fig leaves may be  substituted for the not so eco friendly polyester Speedo).  If you guys are going to set free any carbon emissions, please give fair warning (we may need to cap that).  We will need a French guy, so Paddle-Plappe...you are in.  You may have an unfair advantage as the package pouch seems to be the national garment over there.    Laird does not usually participate in this type of event, so we have left him off of the seeded list.  If he does choose to participate, not only will we give him a spot, but we will preemptively declare him the winner.

Ha..  ;D .. That's a pretty funny vid.

If you look close you will see the odd stand up paddling budgie smuggler down under... but I'm not one of them..  ;D

Thanks for the comments.
With regards to this being a world tour, it really is the case, but we have to start from somewhere. Australia and Europe are key. We are looking to hold events there in 2010 and gradually build the tour to be fully global.

BTW,  One thing I learned about Aussie culture;

Women do look down on men wearing buggie smuglers  ;)

I agree! I think that this is the key, but I'm sure there are some great surfers out there that want and deserve to participate in the Stand Up Paddle World Tour. And this is a great opportunity for them. I think that the organizers should put together a number of trial events for the next year's events. Exciting sh*t!!! ;D ;D ;D

Geez Chan, I was having a good evening sitting here in my speedo thong, but now I feel a little self conscious.  I had no idea it was a lifestyle.
