Attn. Zone Family, specifically Go Pro sub-species:

I'm heading down to mainland Mex for fourteen days at the end of this week (oh my god... been waiting for this one for a long time!) and I want to take the Go Pro down with me- it's real hot and humid down there- is there anything I can do or bring to alleviate the foggy lens syndrome (FLS)?

I know you guys in Hawaii must have had to deal with this- any tips or tricks?

Thanks!

Casso commented once about using the car AC to dry out the camera and case just before closing it up....not cold air but dry air. Send Rambo a message. http://goprouser.freeforums.org/

Go to a motorcycle shop that has dirt bike stuff and ask for
SCOTT NO FOG CLOTH   It's meant for dirt bike goggles which fog up like crazy when you get hot.
Buy a few packets of that cloth.   You will be stoked!!!    I use it in Hawaii when we're riding so the little Go Pro is nothing compared to a sweaty head in goggles in a steaming jungle.

All you do is open the housing, give it a good breath so it fogs up then wipe it clear with the cloth.   Done.

I use it all the time and do not get any fog.      Right before the set hits, spit in your fingers and rub it on the lens.   Splash water on it and you are good for that set.    Water spots and fog are a non issue if you do these 2 things...    Go get us some sick pics!

Thanks Blane- just the kind of stuff I was looking for- can't wait to get down there (and timing's good there's a strong so. hemi plastering the area the day I get there) and will bring back all kinds of shots and vid.

thanks again.... STOKED!!!

I usually wipe it till my breath can't fog it and its good.    South swells are already here.    Was really fun today and its only gonna get better!   Have fun!!!

Haven't tried that cloth yet. Seems a good idea...

Some other thoughts: I used to be a pro diver and what always worked for me was white toothpaste (please notice that gel toothpaste do not work, only white toothpaste). I know nowadays there are specific products for diver's mask antifog... Anyone tried that?
